The idea came to me years ago: "Why doesn't Batman adapt Thanagarian wing tech to make himself some cool batwings to help him fight crime?" I think it was after reading the old DC mini-series "Invasion!" and reading how there was all this leftover tech just waiting to be reverse-engineered. I think John Ostrander introduced it in his "Manhunter" series. Then, like I usually do, I filed it away in my head and got distracted by something else. ("Oooo! Pretty...")

Flash forward a decade or so. Now I'm reading Bob Rozakis' alternate history articles in TwoMorrows' Alter Ego and Back Issue. They're a lot of fun. And inspirational too!, as this picture can attest.
